Project Overview

One in twelve men cannot see the colour green properly. At the Rugby World Cup, that meant Irish fans could not pick out their own team on screen. With Rothco and Accenture Song, I produced SeeGreen, a free Chrome extension that recalibrates any legally streamed broadcast for colour-blind viewers, calibrated against the IRFU crest. Built for any fan of any team that plays in green or red. Not a platform. One small tool that did one thing well, for an audience broadcast technology had always ignored.

Final Outcome

Shortlisted at Cannes. The extension reached the 250,000 colour-blind rugby fans in Ireland alone, the one in twelve men and one in 200 women who had never been able to follow their own team. Free to download, built to work for fans of any green or red side, it set a template for how a governing body can take responsibility for the people broadcasters overlook, and opened conversations with broadcasters about building it into live transmission.
